
Un tubo metálico es una pieza cilíndrica o cuadrada de metal que se utiliza en la construcción como forma de estructura o para conectar unas partes de una estructura.
Estos elementos también se utilizan en escaleras, paredes, vigas y pilares. Los tubos metálicos tienen la capacidad de soportar grandes cantidades de presión y peso, lo que los hace idóneos para la construcción.
Se fabrican con diferentes materiales como acero, aluminio, cobre y otros. Se puede encontrar en formas cuadradas, rectangulares o redondas. Los tubos metálicos se utilizan en la construcción para proporcionar resistencia y soporte a cualquier estructura.

Los tubos de acero en general, se pueden encontrar en una variedad de formas, tamaños y espesores.
Se pueden usar en diversos campos de nuestra vida cotidiana y mas relevante si cabe, en el ámbito industrial.
Los tubos se puede clasificar según el material su forma y su método de fabricación.

Formas y tablas
Los valores más importantes a tener en cuenta a parte de la calidad del tubo, son: las dimensiones y el espesor, aunque los formatos de tubos son muy variados y casi ilimitados.
Los tubos más usados son cuadrados, rectangulares y redondos, pero existen también algunos con formas especiales.

Método de fabricación
Extrusión
sale del horno caliente, pasando por unas hileras, reduciendo al tamaño de fabricación deseado,.
Los tubos por extrusión son llamados también «sin soldadura», se consigue más resistencia.
Soldadura
la materia prima es un fleje y el proceso de fabricación es a través de unos rodillos que van cerrándose hasta conseguir el tamaño de tubo deseado.
El proceso con soldadura finaliza, con un soldeo longitudinal lateral.
La soldadura, será el punto más débil, por eso las características mecánicas estarán en función de esa soldadura.
Helicoidal con soldadura
la materia prima es un fleje o perfil plano, el proceso de conformación se realiza a través de unos rodillos que va guiando el fleje hasta conseguir la forma deseado del tubo.
Todo el proceso Helicoidal, finaliza con la soldadura en la unión.
